A Little Bit About Me...

My diverse academic career has provided me with a greater knowledge and understanding of Mathematics than many of my peers. I have taken numerous courses in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Exercise Science since I hold a B.S. in both Mathematics and Exercise Science. These classes have prepared me to teach a variety of complex topics.I have organized and taught many different classes in Mathematics and other subjects during my experiences with the Philadelphia Urban Seminar, and vacation bible schools. A Little Bit About Me...

As a Penn State graduate, I earned a B.S. in Earth Sciences with a minor in Chemistry, assisting a paleoclimatology laboratory on campus for three years. I then enrolled at Bloomsburg University as a graduate student for a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, and worked as a graduate assistant. I then completed student teaching at Williamsport Area School District in a high school chemistry class and a middle school science class. I am a certified chemistry teacher for the state of Pennsylvania with all proper clearances and references, including Act 34, 114, 151, and several personal references. I received my undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in Earth & Space Science. I then went on to get my masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Bloomsburg University also. I am currently waiting to receive my Pennsylvania State teaching certificate, I will then be certified to teach Secondary Education (grades 7-12) Earth & Space Science. I had the experience of student teaching in both a high school and middle school setting. I student taught 7th grade general science, 9th grade introduction to Biology, and a 12th grade Earth Science class.

I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards. I actively question the student, which allows me to challenge the student in my presence, where I am able to guide him/her. While I have predominantly tutored college students, I have also taught adults and children. I enjoy working with students of all ages and want nothing more than for them to succeed. In order for them to succeed it somtimes requires a little more attention than the classroom teacher can provide. While tutoring I would hope to be able to have the time and patience necessary to be a support to your child and their current educational system. Each student learns in their own individul way.
