Math and Business Tutor

I have completed all College level Math classes for an Electical Engineering degree. Math is my area of expertise. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Certified in Social Studies 6th-12th Grade

I have been working with the education field for 13 years. I have primarily worked in special education which has given the unique experience o teaching or co-teaching all subject areas. I am currently the special education coordinator a charter school in Philadelphia. Prior to working in Philadelphia, I taught social studies, math, English and GED preparation for adults. My teaching style is a direct, hands-on approach where I believe in using everyday scenarios to make a subject enjoyable to the student. I also believe in allowing the student to interrupt the teaching process at the moment they have a question as opposed to having the student wait until the end of the lesson and have the question leave their thought process. As an graduate, I have always wanted to earn my degree in Business. Once I received my BA, I wanted more so I continued my educations and received my MBA. Both degrees are in Business Administration. I've worked as a math and science tutor at a local college math lab for about 30 hours per week for the past year. I have good experience with ada and dyslexic students. my favorite subject to tutor is any level of calculus.

After having the opportunity to tutor one-on-one and as a whole class, I have discovered that each student learns in a unique way. It was a great school and I felt a wonderful sense of accomplishment by obtaining my degree. As a supervisor and trainer in the military, it was my responsibility to train the new individuals that came into the job. There was a lot of studying material that I constantly had to sit down and go over with them. We made flashcards, took notes, made up quizzes, did verbal question and answers, etc. I actually used to tutor math in High School when I was in an advanced Calculus class and have helped many friends with their college math. As a grad student, I am writing lots of essays which has really helped me with my English skills. I have a lot of academic experience that I would love to utilize while tutoring.
