A Little Bit About Me...

One of the most interesting aspects of teaching is how different people process information. Oft times it is difficult to find a teaching style or method that can be equally useful to people of different learning types. I have found that teaching methods common to experiential educators, common practice in such disciplines as SCUBA diving, First Aid/CPR, Martial Arts, Art, etc., can be successfully applied to virtually any academic discipline. The process leads the student to the discovery of concepts based on practical demonstrations by the educator with as much repetition as necessary for the student to achieve comfortable mastery.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have graduated from San Antonio College with Honors (3.85), received an Honors List during 2009 as well. I am a faster learner, and enjoyed the education that I have received, too several business and computer courses while in college. AAS in Business Management and Certificate Level 1 in Business Administrative. Additionally, I have been trained on Oracle-PeopleSoft v.8.9 in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Purchasing, Order Manament (Sales Orders) and took Accounting 1, have skill sets in Peachtree, MS Excel, and Skill Port via Robert Half Technology within the last five years. Very knowledgable in PowerPoint. I have tutored other students with English, computer skills, mathematics and PeopleSoft.

More About This Tutor...

During my undergraduate studies, I was involved in various tutoring/mentoring organizations on campus. I served as a mentor for local area children ages 8-14 as part of an after-school "big buddy" program. During my junior and senior years, I tutored newer students in math, science, and engineering courses. Additionally, I served as a teaching assistant for an upper-level engineering course where I was involved in activities such as answering students' questions regarding course materials, and grading assignments and providing constructive feedback. I am currently working on completing a Masters degree part-time, and would like to pursue a career in teaching.
