A Little Bit About Me...

I am graduating from Texas Tech University in August with a B.A. in psychology. I do very well in tutoring math, especially cal, because I struggled with the subject at first, it didn't come natural, and thus I am able to break it down into understandable levels. I really love being able to teach someone something and seeing the Ah-ha moment. I helped a friend in college go from an F to a B in cal.

My comments on tutoring Algebra I : One on One tutoring is the key to math success!

I have more than 5 years of experience as an elementary math teacher. I love to teach and help students. I have interpersonal skills where I keep students engaged in the materials. I help them feel comfortable, learn the materials, and get on track. I make a point that at the end of the tutoring session, they must know and learn the formulas, solutions, equations, etc. --- the math/topic.

A Little Bit About Me...

The most important thing about my teaching style is that I believe every child can achieve academic excellence and can be interested in learning. I believe that it is up to me, as a teacher or a tutor, to engage the student(s). A huge part of this is being very transparent about where the student starts, what our goals are for where they are going, and how they are doing along the way. I love working with students to figure out what gets them excited and how they learn best so I can incorporate these strategies into my teaching. I know that by getting students interested and excited about their education, I am helping create lifelong learners who are on a great path in school and in life!
