My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : During the last 3 years, I have mainly been tutoring ESL students in writing. I have experience in teaching creative writing, expository writing, and persuasive writing. Of course I would be fully capable of teaching a non-ESL student writing as well.

In 2001, I received my certification in Elementary Education from CCSU. I then substitute taught for the town of West Hartford for 2 years while I got married and had my son. He had a lot of health problems so the decision was made for me to stay home with him. When it came to Kindergarten he still had many health issues so we thought it was best to keep him home and I began to Homeschool him. I began my tutoring experience in the fall of 2009 with a program called Breakthrough Manchester. It serves underprivileged students in the area who do not have the resources to succeed. They ranged from grade 5 to 8. With Breakthrough I worked one-on-one with students as well as in a classroom setting in which I conducted my own lessons.
