A Little Bit About Me...

I was a substitute teacher for Wappingers Central School district from April 2013 to June 2014. I taught grades 6 - 12 for a variety of subjects including, but not limited to Social Studies, Spanish, English, Music, and Special Education. One particular position I held was that I was a substitute Spanish teacher at Van Wyck Jr. High School teaching grades 7 - 8 from February to March 2014. A Little Bit About Me...

I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. Visual tasks, memory games, and hands-on-learning are, in my opinion, the best way to help someone truly learn (versus rote memory). I think that with the right guidance and put in the right environment, anyone can learn. I look forward to being that "right guidance."
I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. As someone who loves history I discovered my passion for helping others understand history. Because of this love I pursued a degree in museum studies. I have over 6 years experience in volunteering my time at history museums in order to educate today's youth about the past.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in journalism from Oswego State University. While in school I studied psychology and child development as well as great works of literature.
