If further clarification is needed I use surrounding objects or tools such as Smart board, manipulatives, different colored pencils, paper-folding or anything else necessary to try. I couple the above with questioning tactics to uncover where the missing link is for the student. Student engagement is emparitive; I watch body language and facial expressions to understand the level of comprehension and connection of the materials presented.
