My comments on tutoring Sociology : I have taught at the collegiate level in Sociology.

I am a Social Studies teacher in the state of Pennsylvania. I graduated from an NCATE accredited university that has a rigorous education program. In that program, I was required to teach elementary students, middle school students, high school students, college students, and adult classes. I have been teaching for three years and tutoring for five years. I have taught multiple types of learners in multiple subjects with a significant amount of success.
I am a great speaker, and I can easily relate to my students. I push my students thoroughly to reach their objectives, because I do not believe there is anyone who cannot learn a subject. I have never had a student fail on my watch, and I do not intend to ever have that happen if a student is trying. If you have the will to learn, I will see to it that you increase your grade.

I completed 3 years of coursework in Chemical Engineering before deciding to switch to Mathematics and am therefore well versed in both the maths and sciences. As a recent graduate from Westminster College, I have earned a BA in History and my PA teaching certificate for 7-12 in Social Studies. I have had experience in teaching grades 9-12 and tutoring students in grade 10 in subjects other than social studies such as science, math, and spanish. I have also volunteered to teach in my church's relgious education program to 5th grade students and plan on teaching 4th grade next year.

I believe that children learn best from hands on experiences. It is up to me, the teacher to create these experiences, guide the child, and provide lots of postive reinforcement. There are many ways to learn and it is up to the teacher to help the student find which ways they learn best.
