After graduating from an Ivy League college, I obtained my Master's Degree in Computer Science while working as a professional software developer. I also taught AP Computer Science for 2 years at an elite private school. I am an excellent standardized test taker (SAT, ACT, Praxis) and can share many test taking tips and strategies that have helped students improve their scores. I managed software development activities and projects at various software companies. I an excellent at explaining difficult concepts and helping people make sense of things.

I have an open style to teaching. I believe that if you show someone the subject; allow them to do the task along with taking notes that they retain most of the information. I also strongly believe that the learning environment needs to be fun and enjoyable. I also give my students small test throughout the class, and then give them an exam at the end. I begin by observing the person. In which areas are they confident and strong? In which areas are they fearful and using avoidance? I then find a bridge from their place of confidence to their place of fear and coax them across until they are happily skipping across. This may take some time, but I believe in quality over quantity when it comes to completed work. I want to leave the person with the ability to complete it well and on their own the next time.
