I have always enjoyed working with people. Knowing that all people have the capacity to learn, I believe that it is only a matter of finding a way to for the student to be able to relate to the content material. I also believe that the best way for students to learn business material is through real life situations and simulations. In doing it this way the students learn how to deal with real life situations, and also learn skills that will be directly applicable to the working world. These are skills that will without a doubt make a difference in students' lives.
As an education major at Western Michigan University I spent a lot of time working with students of various cognitive levels. I currently hold an associate’s degree from Grand Rapids Community College in applied arts as well as an associate’s degree from Davenport University in accounting. I will also graduate with a bachelor’s degree in accounting on April 25, 2010. I worked for over three years for the Boardwalk Fitness Center where I was the general manager in charge of over 20 employees. I was also responsible for the general accounting duties, payroll, and customer billing. I am also an Eagle scout, where I spent years doing community service and teaching younger scounts.
I love working with children of all ages. My teaching style I would describe as a friendship in which I work together. I have found as long as you are a positive force and are willing to put in as much time as it takes, you can help the student reach their fullest potential.
