In my first semester of graduate school, I was a teaching assistant in a 3000-level course with about 20 students. I found the class very exciting as the students where very diligent and always did their pre-lab before each class, making the class easier for them to understand. I have tutored privately at various times helping high school students prepare for SAT and GRE math sections, having scored very well in those exams myself. I am fluent in the English language and have great communication skills as is required for any student in graduate school.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching style depends on the student. Establishing rapport at the beginning of the sessions and taking the time to talk to each student one on one will set a good foundation for learning. I teach through discussion and have the student teach it back to me or another party to be sure they understand the problem. I am confident they will progress with this approach.
As a former probation officer in both the juvenile and adult population, I have worked on numerous community service projects and helped teach at risk youth life skills as well as assisting in acedemics. Additionally, I hold two degrees which has challanged me in the areas of reading and math. During this past year, I have tutored students from K-6 in the both reading and math. In addition, I have two boys of my own whom I continue to teach and monitor their progress.

As an Ivy League graduate, I have a solid academic foundation. In addition to my BS, I also have an MBA. Furthermore, I have completed the coursework for a PhD in management science, which included several doctoral level math and statistics courses. I have been teaching math and statistics for 15 years at a variety of schools, ranging from career colleges to elite research universities.
