In addition to my formal education, I have extensive experience in government relations and health care policy, this broad experience has allowed me to effectively teach a variety of subjects at an undergraduate level. I have taught classes in public administration, public policy and grant writing but also have taught both micro and macro economics, American government and basic web design. I believe that effective teaching should stimulate critical thinking skills. I like to use the Socratic method of teaching by asking students questions. In my classes I frequently ask students .."what do you think?" as a means for them to share their ideas with other students and stimulate new ideas. Education should be more than rote memorization, but rather a gaining an understanding of concepts and being able to apply those concepts in a real world context.

I am an excellent student and have a full knowledge of accounting and math that can be applied in the classroom as well as a "real world" experience. In addition to supervising and training other employees within my employers accounting department, I have also had the privilege of being in charge of staffing an intern who complimented me frequently on my competence and ability to instruct in a professional manner that was easily understood and easy to follow. As a result, she often commented on how she better understood the importance of Accountants in today's work force. It was quite a rewarding experience for both of us. When most high school seniors were registering for classes, they had an easy agenda planned. My intentions were entirely different. I decided to challenge myself the final year and study more science coursework than was needed for me to sufficiently graduate. In addition, I was the kind of friend that was reliable in understanding course concepts, so most of my friends and some other peers were coming to me for help. In college, I continued to pursue my interest in business. Through out college I contributed to my church's youth group by helping in organizing and implementing their projects. I enjoy children and trying to teach them new and exciting things. At times, I understand that it requires patience to work with children, but if you are able to do that then chances of success are much more likely.
