As a NOAA Corps Officer, I helped teach new personnel many facets of our day-to-day operations, from instructing new officers on getting their Officer of the Deck qualifications to preparing new survey techs for their hydrographer-in-charge qualification, and new deck hands assigned to my watch how to drive the ship and steer accurate survey lines. I have been teaching 3rd grade Sunday School for two years. I have been assisting my children in an educational capacity for over 7 years. I have experience in a preschool setting, volunteering with children ages 3-13, and also as a tutor to dyslexic and ADD/ADHD children. I am also a writer currently engaged in finishing my first novel. I believe in teaching with love, enthusiasm, compassion, understanding, excitement, and discipline. I graduated from Hampton University with a BS in Molecular Biology and my love for science pushed me to pursue a MS in Medical Science. I have tutored at Hampton University in the areas of Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Science, and General Biology.
