Creative Writing is one of my top subjects!

I've never really tutored before outside of helping my classmates, but even still I excel when it comes to teaching others tactics for reading and writing. I am extremely patient and studious when it comes to helping others learn, especially children. I graduated a year earlier than I should have due to skipping a grade because of my reading and writing skills. I took two years of AP English (Rhetoric and Literature) in high school and scored a 4 (out of a maximum score of 5) on my AP exam. I also scored around a 1700 on my SAT, mainly excelling in the Reading and Writing portion.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am graduating from Texas Tech University in August with a B.A. in psychology. I do very well in tutoring math, especially cal, because I struggled with the subject at first, it didn't come natural, and thus I am able to break it down into understandable levels. I really love being able to teach someone something and seeing the Ah-ha moment. I helped a friend in college go from an F to a B in cal.

I was a substitute teacher in Aldine ISD at the high school level. I have also tutored students with dyslexia and autism disorders. I hold a M.A. in medical anthropology as well as a B.A. in cultural anthropology. Throughout graduate school I worked as a teaching assistant and upon graduation I taught biological and cultural anthropology courses for the University of Memphis's department of anthropology. The focus area of my graduate studies was child health; this resulted in working on numerous projects with elementary and middle school aged students.
