Biology is one of my top subjects! My major is in General Biology, and therefore, I have taken many course relating to biology including general biology, microbiology, physiology, nutrition, genetics, molecular biology, immunology, and even some specialty courses such as endocrinology and an HIV/AIDS course. I served as a teaching assistant/tutor for nutrition and an HIV/AIDS course as an undergraduate student.
First, I begin by answering any questions a student has about the material they are learning. Once all questions are answered, I usually like to engage students in active learning by providing a worksheet for them in order to test where a students strengths/weaknesses are in regards to particular subject. Lastly, I usually finish off with review of important concepts about the material (especially concepts that students have the most difficulty with) in hopes to clarify the concepts/ideas of the subject.
I worked as an Undergraduate Instructional Apprentice (UGIA)/Tutor at UCSD for the courses of Nutrition and AIDS, Science, and Society.
