I believe in meeting students at their level of need, and mastering the skills needed in order to move onto higher level skills. I believe in teaching students how to develop their critical thinking skills, and teaching them the concepts needed to succeed in school and life.
I have my degree in Elementary Education. I have had experience teaching large class sizes, but I have also spent a lot of time in small group reading instruction, and I have worked in small group math. I tutored a kindergarten girl to improve her phonemic awareness. I tutored Language Arts in elementary school after school hours. In 1982-84 I taught Biology to pre-nursing students while attending school for Commercial Art at Fayetteville Community College. I coached personnel on computer skill (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as part of my daily job. I speak, read and write Spanish, college level.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate with a BS degree in Elementary Education, I have gained knowledge in the practice of teaching elementary school. I have been able to observe classrooms as well as student teach. I was able to put my knowledge to use while I student taught by planning all lessons, implementing fun and relevant activities as well as integrating subjects. I am more knowledgeable in reference to teaching elementary students and implementing useful plans to not only teach them the needed information, but to make it fun and in a way that all students would be able to learn.
