I believe in creating students who have learned how to learn. I understand that I am only a temporary fixture in the lives of most students. Consequently, I strive to help them understand how to acquire information and ask the right questions so that they can succeed long after I've left their lives. I believe all children are capable of academic success and I hold high expectations, especially of students who others may have written off.
Through my volunteer work with church organizations I have over five years of experience mentoring others, which has given me an excellent understanding of the need for quality educators. I worked as a teacher in Kansas before moving to Oklahoma, where I currently work at a local Boys and Girls Club.
