Depends on the student. I'm very adaptable. To say I am or am not alone thing here would be to exclude those who don't like that style.
I've had years of experience due to my love of English. I'd help my friends and underclassmen to understand a novel or get ideas to write a paper. I'd check their grammar and spelling, and offer advice about the overall style of the paper. Now, I'm studying to become a college professor of English and perhaps French. French is one of my top subjects! I have had two years of college-level French, four years of high school French, and two years of elementary school French. I regularly read French news and literature as well as watch tv shows and listen to music in French. I was able to participate in a Sister Cities summer exchange program in high school, where I lived in Normandie with a French family for three weeks and was immersed in the language and culture.
