A professional in the International Banking industry and have travel throughout Latin America for all my business experience. Now semi-retired and dedicated to teaching as a personal couch, tutoring leadership and Spanish language. Currently teaching Beginner and intermediate Spanish in Beaumont, TX. My passion for education blossomed while volunteering as a tutor with Somali refugee children in Pittsburgh, PA during college. I worked with families in their homes to develop English reading, writing, and speaking skills. After graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science I joined Teach For America, where I taught first grade for two years and substitute taught pre-kindergarten through fifth grade for one year. A major focus while teaching first grade was developing literacy skills and instilling a love and enthusiasm for reading and writing in my students. My life has been filled with teaching and working with children. At the age of ninteen as a very young mother I felt a sense of duty in teaching my children how to achive higher than they can ever have imagined. I love to see the look of awe on their faces when they realize that they to can understand which ever subject that slips them. The rest is simple practice, practice, practice seals the deal.
