The teacher also helps build a foundation in subject matter to help develop a lifelong appreciation and understanding of the world through different disciplines.
In May of 2010, I successfully completed my fourth year of teaching. Each year has been different. The children of today learn in many different ways. There has been a change in learning styles over the course of time. Some children may learn through hands on activities and modeling, while others learn through lecture. I received a bachelors degree from The University of Memphis in integrative studies in the fall of 2009. Upon graduation, I was required to complete two semesters of student teaching. Also, during my four years of college, I tutored three different students, one in reading and the other two in English. From August 2009 through January 2011, I was employed at a child care facility where I was director but spent most of my time tutoring and assisting the after school kids with their homework and projects.
