A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of a presigious liberal arts college, I was driven to a belief in life-long learning. As such I have been to graduate school twice, once in business and once in international relations, to gain an understanding of the world in which we live both in terms of economics and finance and through the study of foreign policy and the wider world. I became fluent in Spanish while on assignment in Spain in the early 1990's and keep my skills current by working actively with the Latino community. I am also a scholar of 20th century european and diplomatic history, with concentration on the period between the two world wars. Teaching is a dream job since you get to directly see the results of your work. You can watch your students improve in front of your eyes and this is a result of your motivational skills. The students do the work but you are the one who reaches their inner core to pull out their ability to achieve. For each student you must find what motivates them and press those buttons. My role is to get students to believe in themselves and then to guide them through the process of education. Positive reinforcement is the key to their success.
