I've worked with children, adolescents, and adult learners. I've worked in one-on-one settings in a writing center lab and have lectured to a classroom on a college campus and in an on-line setting. I, having taken several teaching practicums and pedagogy classes, work to constantly improve and revise my teaching methods. I believe every student has their own learning style. As a teacher, I believe it is my responsibility to find the style that works best for the student to help ensure the student not only learns the material but is also able to retain the information. I believe successful learning can be obtained by providing a relaxed environment that provides the individual structure and attention each student needs.
I have more than 5 years experience as a substitute teacher at almost every level. I have had the opportunity to also serve as a long term substitute teacher. I also have 1 year of experience teaching at a pre-school level, 2.5 years teaching at a post-secondary level, and a semester of tutoring a middle school student.
