I believe in teaching through examples. Everyone can learn the material if it is presented to them in a way that makes sense. The trick is finding that method. I believe that I am very good at determining a way to help individuals comprehend their desired material.
I earned two bachelors' degrees from Norwich University in 2011. I graduated with a BS in Sports Medicine Athletic Training and a BS in Sports Medicine Health Sciences with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Education Health. I excelled and enjoyed the information that was taught to me, particularly in the fields of chemistry and math. Although I have no formal tutoring or teaching experience in the typical classroom setting, I have done plenty of informal teaching. For the last four years I have been at Cardigan Mountain School, where I taught English, Latin, Homeric Greek, ESL, and Ancient History. I collaborated with the English Dept., providing, via Power Point Lecture Presentations, the historical background to Tennyson’s epic account of the Light Brigade at Balaklava and Shakespeare’s Henry V, and, as part of the eight grade history seminar, I delivered a forty-minute lecture on Hitler and the Holocaust. In my time here I have also played in the faculty band, directed a student rock band or two, taught beginning guitar and marksmanship as clubs, and fulfilled the duties of Medical Driver, dorm parent, and sometimes videographer.
