I am a certification teacher in Special Education. I have passed the Math Test for teacher. I have been substitute teacher for seven years in Naples Florida. I have tutor 3 to 8 grades in math, reading and special need students. I learn you have to build a bond of trust with the students. This way you can get you know the student an find what the level the students are in. I teach a hands on curriculum as much as possible. I constantly have visuals, or hands on manipulatives to helps students gain a better understanding. I believe that it's important to understand students' learning styles, and try to teach in a manner that "taps" into the various styles. I put a lot of pride into my career as a teacher, and am determined not to give up on students. Often I feel that such a great factor in a child's success is their self esteem. I consistently work to build up their self esteem to encourage them along the way.
