A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky, holding a bachelor's degree in Chemistry with honors. I will be pursuing my Ph.D in organic chemistry at MIT. I have worked as a general and organic chemistry peer tutor for 3 years at the University of Kentucky. In addition, I have privately tutored during the summer at the university. I have lead group help sessions for organic chemistry lecture.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am not overbearing. I am laid back, but at the same time, I make sure that the student learns what he/she needs to learn. I am very patient. I try to respect the student and not make learning seem like a chore. Building a foundation of learning skills, even during a short tudoring session can really change a student's approach in all of their classes.
I have taken education classes at Northern Kentucky University. At one point, I was considering on being a Art Teacher. I didn't finish with that path, but I did gain much experience with children and knowledge during that time in working with students. I have worked and studied special needs children as well. I still consider going back for a Master's at some point in education. I think this job would be beneficial in my goals, and for my students, and a great learning experience for us both.

Having graduated with a BS in Mathematics I am now continuing my passion for learning while pursuing a masters degree in Nurse Anesthesia. My liberal arts degree from Hillsdale College has given me extensive work in all areas of learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked in the tutoring section of both East Tennessee State University and Southern State Community College. I did not major in the subjects which I listed (I minored in Chemistry), but I do have experience as tutor. At Southern State, I tutored basic math and Algebra Courses to adult students who had been out of school for several years. At East Tennessee State University, I tudored freshman in the subjects of Chemisty and Physics when I was a Senior. I refreshed my skills in Chemistry last year when my daughter enrolled in an online AP Chemistry class. She was given very little instruction from her online teacher via email, so I became her teacher after a few weeks reviewing the subject.
