I enjoy teaching children, students of all ages and those willing to learn. As a high school student, I was involved in inner city teaching and I helped hartford students in their studies after their school. I appreciate higher education and I truly understand what it takes to teach as I myself teach my own children with their homework from their own schools after they come home. I earned the Barbara Allen Woods Award for German Excellence at the University of Rhode Island.
I taught school for four (4) years to ages kindergarten - seventh grade. I also tutored inner city children ages 5-12 for two (2) years. I recently graduated cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with two Bachelors of Science in Marine Geology and Maritime Law. I teach sailing and environmental education in the summers. This means very little however as I aspire, one day, to become a lighthouse keeper. Sadly, few can find such a position these days. A diverse education at Wesleyan University has prepared me to tutor many high school subjects. I earned my BA at Wesleyan in Music but I almost double majored in Environmental Science. The high expectations of professors at Wesleyan pushed me to greatly improve my writing ability, with my music thesis earning me honors in music. Environmental sciences sharpened my science and mathematic ability. Extensive courses in music prepared me to tutor music students in any background or concentration.
