As a graduate student at Kansas State University I have learned the value of education. My education in Political Science working towards my BS has given a high degree of competence in math, history, and social sciences. Through my pursuit of an education in an MA in English I have obtained a high degree of grammatical and writing skills through repeated preperation of papers, speaches, and presentations. My experience as an Eagle Scout and at the McConnell Air Force Base Youth Center has taught me to appreciate the potential for education in anyone. I have always loved teaching and tutoring. I have tutored Algebra through Calculus I and Elementary Statistics for the last three years. 1.5 years at both Wichita State University and Washburn University. I'm currently working on a second Bachelors degree in mathematics, but this time with an emphasis in Actuarial Science. This mixes calculus, algebra, and statistics, along with some business classes, into one, keeping them fresh in my mind. I like starting with the given information and stepping through the processes to solve a problem. Reminding them of, or even showing them, the rules, properties, and examples in the book. I normally try to find the method that best works with each pupil, then highlight on that. I also make sure not to do the work for the student. I will sometimes come up with a similar problem to work through so they can see what's really going on within the problem.

I taught many different classes of Mathematics, some were individualized. I am patient, have a good sense of humor, and try to be kind to all people I work with and teach academic material to. I try to teach Mathematics in the best way for each student to learn the most from the instruction. I have taught General Math in Junior High, Algebra and Geometry in Junior High and High School, Introduction to Mathematics, and three different Algebra courses in Junior College. I have learned a lot of techniques in teaching. I am currently teaching twenty hours a week to adults in High School Science, some Electives, and in Mathematics.
