In general, I simply love working with children. I find great happiness in knowing that I personally helped a child succeed academically. As the oldest of four children, I have always been a leader amongst my siblings and always found myself helping them academically as they grew older. In tutoring, I consider myself to be very patient and understanding that all children have a different learning style. Through my rigorous studying for enterance into medical school, I realize that the most effective way to determine if a student is truly comprehending a concept is to get them to "teach" or explain the concept back to the instructor. If a tutee can properly explain the lesson that was taught, then it is a clear indication the student understands.
