A Little Bit About Me...

As a Siena College graduate I developed a very hands on approach to active learning. Through classroom lecture and instruction I've completed the necessary coursework to complete my BS of biology. Due to my strong work ethic I've gained knowledge and skills in the physical sciences, as well as in other subject areas. During my college years I subbed as teacher at a public K-12 school. During that time I taught a variety of grade levels, and worked as a one-on-one aide.
I believe that in order to succeed in teaching and being an educator you must inspire those that you are teaching. A child who is excited to learn, will do much better. I feel a hands on approach is best, guiding the child to personal success.

I currently manage a research lab at Albany Medical College. During my tenure here in the past six years, I have been able to instruct techniques that I have learned and developed to other colleagues and students that have worked in the laboratory, even though my teaching experience began in high school as a laboratory assistant in the 10th grade biology classroom. Currently, as a lab manager, I am responsible for training new students in techniques as well as instructing and teaching interns through various independent study programs in both technique and theories behind their projects.
