I have served as a substitute teacher in Hayward, CA for 1 1/2 years. I worked as a tutor for Learning & Loving It in San Jose, CA for 3 years. I served as a tutor and teacher of adult education in Loganville, GA for 1 year. I am currently on the substitute teacher roster for the Vicksburg School District, and I have been so for two years.
I first introduce myself and get to know a little about the student I am tutoring. Then, I establish a baseline of what they have learned so that I can direct my attention to their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I get into the material with the student and show them how and why the material is important and applicable in the world in which we live.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a love for education. This is my gift by teaching others what I have been taught throughout my educational life as well as professional life. I graduated cum laude from Jackson State University. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in mass comm/english literature. As a graduate of Mississippi State University, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I had the opportunity to intern in the West Point Public School District where I taught fourth grade and kindergarten. My motto is simple: In all of your getting, get an understanding. I truly belive that every child can learn. Even a child with a disadvantage still comes with an advantage because they are always getting some help. It also depends on the child also. We must both be focused on the task at hand and together we must tackle it until it is thoroughly understood.
