My comments on tutoring Earth Science : Although I never taught this at an advanced level, the subject has been an ongoing passion.

Sept. 1987 to February 1988- Substitute teacher for San Diego Unified Schools. During this time I instructed all areas of curriculum in grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.I also worked in many GATE and Seminar classes during this period. May 1988 to January 1989- Tutor at Windsor Learning Center Inc. At Windsor I planned and executed learning programs for First through Sixth Grade students. I also taught students how to use the Apple IIE computer and to use educational software. My initial interest was terrestrial and behavioral ecology from a course in wildlife management I attended in Kenya, East Africa, with The School for Field Studies. After Kenya, the majority of my work experience and interest shifted to marine sciences, conservation and fisheries management. I started out as an intern/naturalist onboard a whale watcher where I gave guided talks to the public. If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.
All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.

My comments on tutoring Earth Science : Just finished teaching this to Middle School. A fascinating topic.

I have taught college level design and desk top publishing classes since 2004.
