My comments on tutoring Journalism : I am a former college journalist and have done occasional freelance work since.

I am a career educator who has taught English and other Humanities based courses extensively since 1988. My primary experience is on the college and university level but I also have a high school and middle school background. I am a College Student studying English and Politics

I am a very firm believer that each human being has a different way of learning. I also believe that each subject has a different way to be taught. I teach based off of my students, as well as the subject.
I was a tutor in high school for many elementary and middle school aged children. I am also experienced with writing papers, so I can help anyone who is writing for a college application or essay. I am a very quick learner, so if there is a subject I am not as familiar with I am willing to study it to help a student. My goal is to help students understand the context being taught, as well as teach them the importance of this knowledge. Experienced Writing and Reading Comprehension Tutor

I served as a writing tutor to my peers while I was in college. I did this for three years and it seemed to help the students a great deal. This position was accompanied by training provided by one of my professors at Montreat College. The training lasted a full semester. I have also been tutoring a 14 year-old boy in reading comprehension for the past year. He has greatly improved since we started last summer in the speed of his reading, interest in what he is reading, and better comprehension as a whole.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 6th. I have home schooled them the past 9 years. They have very different learning styles which has helped me to learn to teach in different ways to accommodate their needs. I am patient and easy going and I love helping kids.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now.
