Spelling Tutoring
Spelling is a group of letters formed to create a word (hopefully a recognizable one!). One starts from the cat and dog level and can advance as far as they wish. Select a tutor to assist you now. Spelling can be difficult at times. A second language, texting, dyslexia, improper enunciation or pronunciation, learning disabilities or a myriad of factors might impact this. Select a tutor for help today. Drafting documents and using spellcheck? Good start, but learning how to spell makes one more effective. Choose your tutor today for a better tomorrow.

I have always loved teaching and working with students. My mother is a teacher of almost 30 years, so I have the importance of education ingrained in me. I do believe that every student can learn, some are just a little harder to reach than others. I am trained in a variety of teaching techniques and pride myself on being able to work through the strategies with students to find one that will work. I do believe that there must be a mutual level of respect between teacher and student and so I do work hard to learn about my students' backgrounds and interests to help with my lessons. I am very easy to talk to and get along with as well. While in high school I completed two years in a practicum that put me in a classroom working one on one with students my junior and senior years. I completed my undergraduate degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Language Arts. I taugh

I enjoy working with, and teaching, kids, especially in Math. I teach with creative tactics, when necessary, to drive home a concept. I am patient with kids (hey, I have 3 of my own!), and find it rewarding when I can make a difference. During my Junior and Senior year of college, I tutored at a Children's Home in Lubbock, TX, 3 nights a week. I have also taught Sunday School classes off and on for the past 15 years for ages 1 year to 14 years old. I volunteer on a regular basis at my son's school, and have worked with the students primarily with Math and English.

The most important thing to remember when teaching a child new concepts is patience. All children learn skills in different ways. Some catch on quickly, others need more time. Even the way in which you demonstrate how a problem is solved can make a difference. I usually try several methods for solving problems rather than insist that they learn the traditional methods only. The little bit of extra time spent giving them the optional techniques could make a world of difference in their educational success. As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I am currently working on my teaching certification in middle school science, but have always been had excelent aptitude for mathmatics. I also substitute in the Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Fort Os

Normally I would have them write something and then we would look at their work together and discuss how we could improve it. Once they see how they write, and then learn what they need to do to improve that, and why, they start to incorporate that writing style. We may write up templates, or dummy copies, so that they have something to refer to the next time they need to write a similar project. It isn't about showing them what they aren't doing, but showing them what they can do and how they can improve that. I've worked as an addiction tech, juvenile court officer, volunteered at Girls, Inc., an obituary writer, and a freelance writer. In each of those positions, at many a time, I had to assist someone with writing. My mom was a K-8 grade teacher, as were all of my aunts, so it runs in the family. All of them were English Majors. I just chose to write as a career instead of teac
