Meeting students where they are academically ~ 15 yrs. exp.

I have taught middle school language arts for 15 years in both public and private schools. I excel in teaching young people how to write clearly, completely, and concisely. While I can teach them grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and research skills. CONTENT often comes from the heart rather than the head. I have had several of my students win awards in writing completions. One struggling 8th grader worked so hard that he was accepted into an Honors English Class his freshman year in high school.
I believe that grammar and punctuation are critical in written expression. Working through problems or lessons with the student by leading them through it, then working it with them side by side while explaining the details helps them achieve the accomplishment of learning without making them feel as if they were just instructed how to do it. A Little Bit About Me...

I worked as in house counsel for seven and a half years in Fidelity National Financial’s Chicago claims department, handling title insurance claims generated by property in multiple states of the country. For the last four of those years, I was in a supervisory position with respect to the other members of my “team.” My primary job responsibilities have included coverage determination of title insurance claims and management of outside counsel.
