A Little Bit About Me...

I like teaching one on one. This makes it easier for me to explain to the student and understand them. Smaller groups also work well for me. I was a hands on student that learned through images and repetition. I believe this is a good way to learn not memorize. If you memorize you will forget, and that is pointless in the long run.
I graduated from St. Joseph's College in spring 2009 with a BS in biology. I graduated with a 3.2 gpa. I played softball for 4 years in college and was ranked 18th in the nation in my junior year. I did research in molecular biology and wrote a thesis on polycarbonate disruption of the endocrine system. I focued on bisphenol-a and its potential disruption in children. A Little Bit About Me...

I would say that all people are capable of learning and improving their abilities, knowledge, and skill. My experience has been that if a child, youth, or adult is given the space in which to learn, and introduced to material in a patient manner, in the style that works for them (be that through explanation or visual learning, etc) they will take the initiative to learn and grow at the pace and direction which works for them. People are naturally inclined to learn and grow, and my experience is that when given the opportunity and supportive role of a teacher, they will become interested in learning and continue to do so.
