I have always had an interest in math, science, and social studies along with a desire to help people. Therefore I decided to pursue a degree in Elementary Education. I have 5 years of experience working within a classroom as a Para-educator. My last internship was within a middle school social studies classroom, I had classroom sizes of 31 students. My first fulltime teaching experience was within a middle school math and social studies classroom, I had classroom sizes of 18 students. In the summer of 2009 I began working on my Master degree in Instructional Technology.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for the past 14 years in the behavioral health care field. I have served as a mentor to a youth with behavioral/emotional issues. I hold a BA of Education with a minor in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I also hold an MSEd in Education- Counseling. I hold a current Nebraska teaching certificate and have worked with youth of all ages.
I enjoy teaching and helping youth learn. My philosophy is that all children can learn if provided the opportunity and resources that fit their learning style. I believe in positive reinforcement and praise. Children learn in many different ways, and it is an educators role to provide opportunities for children to learn through various methods. I am a positive and outgoing person and believe this is evident in my teaching and presentation style.
