I experimented with Political Science for two years, in which I took classes in criminology, speech, and history. My next year of college was spent in English and Writing, where I focused on the obvious, as well as classes in psychology. Children are our heritage. Children have an innate desire to learn and I believe that with proper guidance, each child can be successful. I endeavor to determine what the child is interested in learning and build from there. Education is a very high priority in our family and we encourage others to further their education, whether it involves college or study on one's own, in order to better themselves.
I began homeschooling my children in 1993. My older son was in 8th grade, my younger son was in 4th grade, my oldest daughter was in Kindergarten, and my twin daughters were 2 years old. I believe that all children are unique and gifted in some way. I truly prefer to work with them one-on-one. Each child learns in a manner that is a challege to meet and I welcome this challenge and often find that I learn as much from them as they might from me. I have taught 4 and 5th grade in the Texas School Systems for 24 years.
