A Little Bit About Me...

One of my successes is sparking the interest and imaginations of students. As an educator, I have learned that managing the differences of students' abilities is key to successful learning. Showing students that there is enjoyment in a subject that may not have been of interest previously to them, is the true meaning of being an educator.
In this position, I provide my students with a creative approach to learning, breaking down complicated concepts into simple, easy to learn lessons that students can understand. I modify lessons, maintaining interest among all levels of students; while incorporating behavior management. Students' needs must be addressed on an individual and varying basis. What works today, might not work tomorrow.

My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I am very patient and know how to take time to break down and help challenged children with their work from experiences . As my brother and my sister both ADHA and ADD I had to take classes and join groups to become better.

I teach or Tutor accordingly to the age group I'm with.I have been in many tutor groups and shared with in the work. But I always take my time and ensure that the person knows what is being taught before moving on to the next material.
I went to college and obtained a degree in Fine Arts ,I've had many paintings and works shown in the galleries . But my main reasoning for going to college was not to learn how to but to become better and merge my self in the depths of art. Fine arts is a career that is opened to many forms of art besides drawing and painting ,such as sculpting and printmaking , but the main one is the knowledge and skill.I feel that have it all and and if You let me i can teach you to enjoy and take in as much as I did when i was learning.

More About This Tutor...

Other than having a lot of patience, I don't have a very specific style of teaching. Everyone learns in a different manner, so I try to take this into account on a case by case basis. Some students learn through repetition, some through writing, others through listening. I always try to make things as fun as possible and enjoy feedback.
I recently graduated from Montclair State University in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in management. I have experience substitute teaching a wide variety of subjects at the elementary and high school level. I also have experience working with students with special needs such as ADD/ADHD, school phobia, and other behavioral issues. As a recent graduate still trying to plan a career path I look forward to hearing and working with you!

I worked as a teaching assistant for four years, while completing my Master's Degree. During this time I also did several leave replacements. I currently teach English Language Arts for 10th and 12th grade special education students. The students are emotionally and learning disabled.
The one word I would use to describe my teaching style is flexible. If something is not working and my students are not getting what I'm trying to teach I change my lesson plan mid-stream. Each student learns differently, and each class learns differently. It is my job to ensure all of their learning styles are achieved.

I am currently a Grade 3 Special Education Inclusion Teacher, a position I have held for approximately 7 years, in Montville Township. Prior to that, I had worked as a Paraprofessional in my school district; maternity leave replacement teacher in Rockaway Township; Co-Head Teacher of my District's after school program. I have experience and training in multi-sensory reading programs, such as Fundations, and am very familiar with DRA reading levels.
My teaching style is every learner can learn, it is up to me to discover the best learning medium for my student. I approach much of my teaching with humor, and have found that this approach works well with all ages, as it provides a relaxing atmosphere and one in which a child can feel comfortable. I prefer to use many visuals and hands-on activities, as I find most, if not all, students achieve success in this way.

I am currently a Grade 3 Special Education Inclusion Teacher in Montville Township, a position I have held for the past 7 years. Previous to that, I was a classroom aide in the same elementary school, as well as co-head teacher of the after school program. My experience includes Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6; I am experienced in administering the Terranova State Test as well as ASK3, ASK4 and ASK5. I am trained in a DRA guided reading program, as well as a multi-sensory reading program for those experiencing difficulties in reading.
I am comfortable working with children in grade levels 3 through 6, as that is where the majority of my experience is. My philosophy is that everyone can learn a concept, but we all learn in different ways and styles. There is not one correct way to learn, as long as the outcome is the same. I also believe humor is a big factor, as if a child is com ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

As a second year teacher, I have much experience working with children of various ages. I have taught Kindergarten, Fourth Grade, and I am currently teaching First Grade. I also have had the opportunity to work with students (elementary & secondary) with special needs during my college breaks. Working a wide range of ages of children has helped me to understand their capabilities at a specific age.
I have always treasured working with children. I found my interest when I started babysitting at age 11. I quickly found that my time spent having fun and entertaining children was something I truly enjoyed. As a educator, I understand that all students learn differently. I work at getting to know all my students on a individual level. This helps to keep student’s interests in mind and incorporate it into what we are currently learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored children for many years in multiple subject areas throughout my undergraduate degree. In my student teaching, I taught students in all subjects. Most recently, I have tutored in reading toward my Master's degree. I have tutored children in both narrative and content area reading.
My style of teaching involves asking questions that guide students toward discovery. I often act as a model to show students the behaviors of 'good' readers then gradually allow them to take ownership of their reading. I use surveys to find out my students' interests so that they are always motivated to read.
