Spanish is one of my top subjects! Native speaker, Colombian Spanish

As I speak 4 languages I have experienced many styles of teaching (and learning), that is why it is easy for me to teach what I know using the techniques I have seen in Germany and France.
I have experience teaching English and German (I am a Spanish native speaker though). My best talent is the writing and that is of a great help when it comes to teaching a language. I taught English in Colombia and Spanish in Germany which gave me the experience necessary to transmit what I know in the best way possible. I learnt German in Germany to an extend that I helped my friends to improve theirs. I know the difficulties of the German language and based on my own learning experience I can teach that language knowing how to tackle those difficulties.

I enjoy tutoring those who are in Middle School or High school. I feel as though they tend to have a higher capacity for sustaining attention. Those are unique ages that can really build a foundation for later education. I believe that one-on-one time is essential in learning. Some people might learn well in a large group, but others learn much better when time is spent on explaing specific details. I find the most enjoyment when a tutee finally links the core concept and is able to solve more difficult problems on their own.

I traveled for a year with a family and home-schooled their 3 children. The children were in 1st grade, kindergarten, and pre-school and were seriously below grade level in math and reading. In that year, I brought those children beyond grade level in reading skills and comprehension as well as math skills. I have also been a teacher's assistant in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms and have gone through student teaching in the 3rd and 6th grade in order to complete my degree. I believe that teaching styles need to be flexible to the student. I have worked with a very wide variety of students, from the severely limited autistic youth to the highly gifted medical student. While approach and focus might vary for the individual or subject matter the essence remains the same. I try to envision at least 3 different ways of approaching a problem, I discuss material but let the students ask questions which I then tailor my explanations toward. Everyone sees a problem slightly differently and if you allow yourself an open mind and creative thinking often you can help them break through a difficult problem because you are able to see it their way.
