I worked as a tutor in the Learning Center at SUNY Fredonia from September 2008 through December 2009. There I tutored college-level Biology and Chemistry in group and one-on-one settings. I previously tutored a local third-grader in reading and writing and taught a first grade class in Vacation Bible School for two weeks over two summers. I find students today are in a very competitive and stressful environment in the classroom. The pressure to succeed or be above average is great and can cause the enjoyment in learning to be lost.
