I was a substitute teacher for Wappingers Central School district from April 2013 to June 2014. I taught grades 6 - 12 for a variety of subjects including, but not limited to Social Studies, Spanish, English, Music, and Special Education. One particular position I held was that I was a substitute Spanish teacher at Van Wyck Jr. High School teaching grades 7 - 8 from February to March 2014. As a musician, before moving to the area, I was on the Executive Board of American Federation of Musicians Local 238 - 291. I have been playing French horn for 16 years and guitar for 13 years.

Spanish and History Major

As someone who felt in my youth that if I could only pay attention I could learn anything has taught me how to break down the barriers to focus and how it can shape a students success in any discipline. Focusing on my learning style has taught me how to demonstrate complex ideas in ways that are easy to absorb. I tend to find different ways to relate material to students in ways that are fun. I used a dollars and cents approach to teach young students the importance of decimals, fractions, and basic arithmetic as how it affected their own bottom line: their allowance, milk money and so on. I attended several schools to achieve my undergraduate degrees, both of which I worked hard to excel at the University level. Attending graduate school at Binghamton University truly prepared me for academia, requiring many research papers and essays as well as honing my knowledge in psychology, the arts, human development, english, and biology. I have tutored, un-officially, all during my college years, forming study groups to better help my peers, as well as having volunteer positions tutoring in math and english.

As a recent graduate of Lock Haven University, I have obtained dual bachelor's degrees in both Accounting and Business Administration.
