For a period of five years, I offered tutoring services to students at the University of Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University. My ability comes from experience...I was not entirely prepared for college when I started, and had to work much harder to successfully complete my degrees. I believe that this has given me a great insight into what students really need, especially as schools continue to do a less than perfect job of preparing students for the future.
The goal of my approach is to enable students to have a level of ownership in learning concepts and ideas. Merely teaching the idea is not enough, and that "Oh, I see" moment must occur to embed the idea for long-term growth. I enjoy relating the ideas and facts to real world examples that almost anyone can grasp.

I obtained a high honors degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry in 2005. Due to an outstanding GPA (3.74/4.00), I began to teach even as an undergraduate student. I was hired by the Athletics Department to help my fellow students obtain higher GPAs even with their busy athletic schedules. Upon graduation, I continued to volunteer my services and also got hired as a private tutor from 2005-2009. Subjects I tutored included Math, Science, Biology, and Chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, I developed a passion for teaching and helping others achieve the academic success that I enjoyed. I tutored during each of my final three years, mostly in the various science classes that I took. During the past year, I have been teaching the Physics section of the MCAT for the Princeton Review, a nationwide test prep company.
