If you can ingite a desire to learn in students, I believe everything falls into place after that. I use a lot of repetition, as I think that the more you repeat a concept, the more one will familiarize oneself with it. Also, I redirect questions back to the student that asked the question (or other students). This helps them think through the question and methodically arrive at an answer, without my intervention. In addition, I always check for understanding, by asking follow up questions after we have solved a problem.
