Experienced elementary tutor, common core state standards

I first like to get to know my students and find out their learning styles. What's great about common core math is that they provide different methods to teach students how to solve a problem and in the end they choose which method works best for them. I love visuals and step by step directions to explain to my students. I find other ways to make they understand because I want my students to succeed of course.
I've been working with the El Monte City School District for about 12 years now. I had worked with grades TK-6th mainly in math and English. I am fully aware of the common core state standards. My comments on tutoring Elementary : College level education, proficient in all elementary subjects.

I have tutored many young students throughout my life, and have been tutored myself. I do find it easier to work with younger children; however, I am capable of assisting those of high school or college age students who are struggling. I have helped young children learn how to read, write, count, and tell time on an analog clock. Though I do not have strictly professional tutoring experience (I have never been paid for my services) I know how to identify student's learning style(s) and work with them a way that they will benefit from. I believe that children and adult education is extremely important, and I can also assist those of any age who would like to learn to read and write.
