German is one of my top subjects! I have studied German at a University level. I spent 1 summer semester in Bregenz, Austria. I spent 1 year at the University of Tübingen studying advanced German.

While I am still a university student, I have spent many countless hours studying German. I have studied it in an American classroom and a German classroom. I lived in Germany for 15 months, studying and living the language. I really love the German language and culture, and I'm really interested in helping others to love it as much as I do! Hopefully, my passion for it will transmit onto others who are interested in Germany as well.

Basic parts of speech, syntax, grammar, organization, rhetoric, and multiple genres--from correct usage to specialized purposes (such as academic papers, business, text for oral delivery) have been mastered. In January of 2009, I moved back to the United States after living in Dusseldorf, Germany for four years. While living there, I continued my vocal studies and perfected my teaching style. Holding a BA in music, I am a vocal and beginner piano instructor. I also have three years experience with teaching English as a second language at two different language schools, one for adults, the other geared toward children. I have dedicated three years to learning German; I am a B-2 level,more than able to instruct beginners in the language. I enjoy the German language very much and love explaining how it works to students. Though students learn in different ways, practicing both written and conversational German is imperative to be successful in mastering the language.
As a student of German at Bellarmine University, I was able to learn the German language through immersion experiences in Austria and Germany. I also studied German grammar and literature in depth through classes at Bellarmine. I was a tutor in the Academic Resource Center for two years as I was completing my degree and continued to work with students for a year after my graduation.
