A Little Bit About Me...

Having homeschooled my children (eldest is attending a top 20 public university)and volunteering extensively in the school community, I have become familiar with a wide variety of learning styles. My legal background has prepared me for tutoring in that I am able to effectively communicate with the student and present the material in a manner conducive to a learning experience(similar to explaining legalese to a lay person). Above all, I strive to ensure that the student has a true understanding of the materials, as opposed to simple memorization. I truly enjoy when I get the chance to work one-on-one with a student. I am the kind of teacher you will see sitting on the floor with a student, acting things out in front of the class, making up songs to go with the curriculum, and full of energy. I understand the difficulty that many children have when learning in a noisy, busy, and crowded classroom. Tutoring can give me that chance to reach a child who otherwise might get lost in his/her classroom.
