After earning my BS in Elementary Education at Western Carolina, I became a tutor, part time assistant in Jackson County Schools (as an assistant in two ESL classrooms-one at a high school level and in an elementary/middle school classroom) and as a Lowes Sales Associate part time. I later became a fifth grade teacher at Cherokee Elementary on the Reservation. Coming from an academic family with a father who is a Philosophy professor and a mother who studied child developmental psychology, I understand the importance of a quality education.
