Since then, I have tutored writing and other subjects for people as young as 12 through college-age. For 15 years, I also taught college writing courses including basic writing, English composition, research composition, creative writing, and advanced poetry writing. My teaching style I would describe two-fold: First, my military background taught me their three step process; tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, and then tell them what you told them and my own personal style which is a hybrid of the discovery method and guided question and answer.
