My tutoring style is somewhat laid-back with serious undertones. I feel the best way to learn is to not have information force fed, but to allow the individual to glean knowledge and come to an understanding of the subject gradually. During my course as a math tutor, I’ve found one on one tutoring to be most effective. Each child presented different needs and was receptive to different teaching methods, so I would meet with them individually. I believe each child is just as likely to succeed as the next one, and as a tutor, it is my job to encourage and instill confidence in them.
As I approach my college graduation, I have realized how fortunate I am to have been given the opportunity to attend college. I understood the importance of understanding math in life early on and my Finance degree only validated that notion. Early this year, I began tutoring advanced math to middle school kids and found it to be a rejuvenating to see young minds eagerly waiting to be academically challenged.
