A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent cum laude college graduate of Mercer University with a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry, I have an extensive background and understanding of math and chemistry. I have also gained extensive writing skills due to writing lab reports and research papers, in addition to essays written for general education classes. During the last three years, I have helped teach and tutor chemistry students both in a laboratory setting, as well as outside the laboratory.
As a babysitter, elementary school tutor, and hospital volunteer growing up, I have come to love working with children. I find the opportunity to help students learn and succeed in school to be very rewarding. I am very patient, laid back, and encouraging, and I firmly believe that with a little hard work, every student can achieve good grades in school.

During my course as a math tutor, I’ve found one on one tutoring to be most effective. Each child presented different needs and was receptive to different teaching methods, so I would meet with them individually. I believe each child is just as likely to succeed as the next one, and as a tutor, it is my job to encourage and instill confidence in them.
As I approach my college graduation, I have realized how fortunate I am to have been given the opportunity to attend college. I understood the importance of understanding math in life early on and my Finance degree only validated that notion.
